We are living in a world where power and friendship speak louder than the law itself.
In the past several months, the Israeli government has been striking, bombing, demolishing, and starving the Palestinian people. Around 60,000 have died, and many more have been injured, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Children are dying from starvation. No humanitarian aid is allowed in.
The biggest shock is that some countries are still supporting this genocide—supplying different types of weapons.
A similar scenario is happening in Ukraine—Russia is bombing Ukraine. But let’s compare the world’s reaction.
When Russia waged war against Ukraine, Western powers imposed heavy sanctions on Russia, sent weapons to Ukraine, and provided immense support. Even Russian nationals were banned from participating in the FIFA World Cup.
The destruction in Ukraine is arguably less severe than in Gaza. But perhaps Palestinians are not considered human beings like Ukrainians. Maybe we cannot sanction Israel because it is a close friend of the Western world. That is why they do what they want.
That is why they bombed Iran and killed its leaders without accountability.
That is why they are bombing Syria and threatening its leaders.
That is why they just bombed Lebanon.
Now, imagine if it were another country.
Would the UK still supply them with weapons?
Would Germany still support them?
Forget support—even saying a kind word about Palestinians can get you labeled anti-Semitic. And people now fear for themselves. But why?
For instance, the UK hip-hop artist Bob Vylan recently chanted “Death to IDF” — and you’ve seen the consequences he’s facing.
You can’t say “Death to Israel,” because you’re labeled anti-Semitic.
But Israel can kill Gazans as they please, and somehow, they’re still right.
After much reflection, I’ve concluded this:
There are human beings, and there are semi-human beings.
I remember when footballer Kurt Zouma kicked his cat — he was heavily fined.
But no one is fined for killing Palestinians, Iranians, or Lebanese.
It seems the cat is more respected than these people.
I also remember when an Air India plane crashed — the whole world mourned, including many famous football clubs.
But the same clubs are silent about the death of 60,000 Palestinians.
Why? Because the passengers of Air India are seen as better human beings.
In conclusion, the world of ICJ and ICC is no more. Superpowers lead; justice does not.
The time of trusting BBC, Sky News, The Telegraph, and other Western media is over.
If someone speaks about “humanity,” tell them:
Humanity would have applied in Gaza.
Now is the time to rise up and speak loudly against injustice and inhumanity.
If you can’t see it now, you’ll feel it later — when it’s too late.
